Hospitality and Community Engagement Coordinator

The Hospitality and Community Engagement Coordinator is a role responsible for developing and implementing The Bellingham Circus Guild sponsorship strategies, coordinating hospitality services, and managing volunteer engagement. This role is crucial in fostering partnerships and leveraging the talents of volunteers to enhance event experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a talent for relationship building, volunteer organizing, hospitality management and collaborating with the grant team on fundraising.

Bartenders & Servers

As an event bartender and/or server, your primary responsibility is to craft and serve a variety of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to guests in a kind but quick manner. Our events are often fast paced, so an ability to manage long lines and maintain a calm demeanor is essential. You will maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring all supplies are stocked and ready for service throughout the event. Knowledge of a basic range of cocktails, wines, and beers is essential, along with the ability to mix and garnish drinks according to established recipes. You will also handle cash and card transactions, ensuring accurate billing and maintaining a secure till. Additionally, you are responsible for adhering to all safety and sanitation regulations, as well as managing any challenging situations or guests with tact and professionalism. Dressing for the circus is a huge plus! A current MAST permit is a must.

Event Security

As an event security officer, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of all guests, staff, and property throughout the event. You will monitor the premises, conduct regular patrols, and control access points to prevent unauthorized entry. You will check IDs for the bar, apply wristbands for guests over 21, and monitor the crowd for signs of intoxicated individuals. Customer service is key, and you will interact with guests in a polite and professional manner, providing assistance and information as needed. You will manage crowd control, de-escalate any conflicts, and handle any incidents or emergencies promptly and effectively. Additionally, you are responsible for maintaining detailed records of any incidents and collaborating with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary. Dressing for the circus is a huge plus! A current MAST permit is a must.
